WHO WE ARE
It doesn’t matter who we are what matters is our plan.
Dreaming for a prosperous Bangladesh, Self Development Initiative (SDI), registered to NGO Affairs Bureau of Bangladesh, founded on 9th May, 2006 with a view to alleviating hunger, illiteracy, ailment and poverty as well as to establishing humanity, morality, education and health. Enhancing the unprivileged society towards the light of humanitarian and social development is one of the goals it preserves. It believes that Bangladesh possesses an immense possibility to uphold its different entity in the race of globalization if the large amount of people can be taken to a sustainable development especially on the basic needs. In this respect SDI has kept itself working in upgrading the poor, distressed and back footed people and most importantly the children undertaking jointly with the social organizations formed at local, national or international levels.
SDI has also expanded its working periphery for the Rohingya refugees in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh in collaboration with various humanitarian organizations at a large engagement.

SDI has a glorious history of working for the children. Children are the architect of the nation. So, it is our obligation to create a certain and safe earth for the upcoming generations. It is a must to ensure a better life, sound health and also to protect them from all sorts of negativities. The organization has been working relentlessly to promote the rights and well-being of children and young people.
SDI does not believe in discrimination between the children. The organization believes in potential amidst all children and kids. Therefore, SDI has undertaken programs to utilize the potentials of the kids in order to turn them into a dynamic, self-reliant and respectful citizens.
SDI wants to establish a society where children and young people grow up happy, healthy and confident and respected as individuals in their own right. Its core target is Putting children’s rights and well-being at the heart of policy making Building a community of professionals that integrate children’s rights and well-being into their daily work.

To develop the standard of the social, financial, cultural and moral lives of all parties and their members. Also, to establish a progressive society by continuing different constructive activities based on moral and ethical senses. .

To undertake programs for helping the poor, helpless and crippled people. Programs for the people with disabilities will be taken initially in Rangpur district. But later the activities will be expanded all over Bangladesh. Under these programs, vocational training, scholarships, primary educations, financial assistances will be provided to the disabled people..
